Act 9: 2017 Fringe, Fringe, Fringe

In 2017, we were able to perform in two fringe festivals. The Los Angeles Fringe Festival with many of the same LA workshop cast including the talented Jessica Lynn Verdi and added to the show were Michael Dunn and Hugo Martin. The LA cast was a blast to work with- as always, Wishbone works under a tight timeline, but we were so proud of our new show and the joyful, talented performers.

“I could tell immediately that this work had been developed over a period of time: the fast pace and furious blocking, the actors’ physical agility and focus, the quick blackouts and scene changes, the clever use of minimal props, and the writing—witty, provocative, assured and meaningful...FAIR is a complicated tale woven into an entertaining melodramatic format.”

— Terry Holzman, LA Female Playwrights Initiative

We also took the show to the Chicago Fringe Festival. We had far less time to pull off the show with new actors, and they were all wonderful sports! Pizza, rehearsal, pizza, and performing- we made it happen. Aaron Ballard brought a strength to the vulnerable Laura Fair that excited us to explore. Tim Lane and Luke Vonasek joined as Campbell and Quint, the lawyers in the trial. Mandy Stertz was the role of Marion, a sweet an earnest actor, ready to get all of her parts right. It was a delight to be back in Chicago and sharing our work that we created over the past two years in a Fringe festival that has always been very supportive of us. Photos below by Rush Marler from the audience…request coming in at the last minute.
